Born and raised in Somers, Connecticut, he grew up with a passion for sport, particularly soccer. His dedication to the game carried him to Sacred Heart University, where he played NCAA Division I soccer as a four-year starter while studying Communications Technology.

The discipline and leadership skills Brewer gained on the pitch would later become the foundation of his professional life. After graduating in 2013, he began his career in sales and digital marketing, first at YP.com and later at Thomson Reuters FindLaw in Boston. These roles gave him a close view of how businesses operate, as well as the challenges they face in balancing growth with costs.

In 2020, Brewer relocated to Las Vegas to launch Greenhub, a merchant services company. His vision was simple but ambitious: help companies in retail, e-commerce and B2B sectors streamline payment processing and eliminate hidden costs. Under his leadership, Greenhub has earned a reputation for transparency and innovation in an industry often criticised for its complexity.

In 2025, Brewer’s achievements were recognised when he was named a Vegas Inc 40 Under 40 honouree, celebrated for leadership, innovation and impact. Away from business, he remains committed to fitness and outdoor pursuits, from snowboarding and mountain biking to travelling with his truck camper in search of new adventures. Today, Brewer continues to grow Greenhub while working to guide others towards entrepreneurial freedom.

Q&A with Justin Brewer

Can you tell us about your early years and how sport shaped you?

I grew up in Somers, Connecticut. From a young age, soccer was everything for me. It gave me focus and structure. At Sacred Heart University, I was lucky enough to be a four-year starter on the Division I team. Those years were tough, balancing study and sport, but they taught me discipline, teamwork and resilience. I often say the lessons I learned on the pitch are the same ones I use in business today.

What did you study at university and how did that influence your career?

I studied Communications Technology and graduated in 2013. The course gave me insight into how systems and media work, but I think the real education came from being an athlete. Managing pressure, dealing with setbacks and leading by example—those skills became the foundation for my career.

What were your first steps after leaving university?

My first role was with YP.com as an Account Executive. I worked with local businesses to create advertising strategies. After that, I moved to Thomson Reuters FindLaw in Boston, where I helped law firms with digital marketing. Those roles were eye-opening. I saw how hard small businesses work and how much they struggle with costs and inefficiencies.

What motivated you to start your own company?

I always knew I wanted to build something. In those early jobs, I kept noticing gaps—areas where businesses were overpaying or not getting value. By 2020, I decided it was time to take the leap. I moved to Las Vegas and started Greenhub. The goal was to help companies with payment processing, cutting unnecessary costs and providing clarity.

Why did you focus on merchant services?

Because it’s such a hidden pain point. Payment processing fees add up to billions every year, yet most owners don’t even realise what they’re paying. I wanted to bring transparency. When businesses understand their costs, they can make smarter choices.

What were the biggest challenges in the early days of Greenhub?

Starting out was tough. It was just me at first, trying to win clients and explain why our approach was different. In an industry dominated by big players, you need persistence. That’s where my sporting background helped. I treated it like training—show up every day, keep moving forward, even if the progress is small.

Your company has gained recognition for its growth. How did that feel when you were named to the Vegas Inc 40 Under 40?

It was humbling. To be recognised among Southern Nevada’s top young professionals was an honour. But for me, it was more about the clients and the team. It confirmed that the work we’re doing is meaningful and that transparency resonates.

How do you balance business with your personal life?

I make fitness and the outdoors a priority. I train five days a week, and in winter I’m often snowboarding. I’ve got a truck camper that I take on trips to chase storms and fresh powder. Being outdoors clears my mind and gives me balance. It keeps me energised for business.

You’re developing a merchant services course. What inspired that project?

I want to help others achieve financial independence. So many people feel trapped in corporate roles. I know that feeling. By teaching how merchant services work, I can give people a path to build residual income and create flexibility in their lives. It’s not about quick wins. It’s about building something sustainable.

Looking back, what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned?

Success isn’t about one big moment. It’s about showing up every day, paying attention to the details and helping others succeed. Whether on the pitch or working remote, consistency is what matters most.
